What are the normal expenses for having Dr. Barclay come in to speak for our event?

We normally ask that those hosting Dr. Barclay be able to cover the following:

  • three hotel rooms for each night he is there
  • a love offering for each service in which he ministers
  • sowing toward the jet fuel-burn cost (Nate Harvard will provide details)

What are Dr. Barclay's transportation needs while he is with us?

We ask the host to pick up Dr. Barclay, our crew, and our gear from the airport. It works easiest if you are able to pick up Dr. Barclay in a separate vehicle, so that he can go directly to the hotel if necessary to prepare for the meeting. If the senior pastor is available to pick him up that works even better; this gives Dr. Barclay extra private time to talk personally with the pastor.

We ask that you have a second large vehicle (full-size van or suv), to pick up the pilots, luggage, and booktable product. We are sometimes on the road for a week or longer and need a large vehicle to hold all of the gear, etc. We also need 2 drivers to transport our team between the hotel and the meeting. The pilots will need to go early to help set up the booktable. Dr. Barclay and his armourbearer will usually need to come just before the meeting begins (15 minutes early). If you are able to leave a vehicle with the team, so they can do errands for Dr. Barclay, that is much appreciated. We will need directions to the meeting to be left also.

If you are hosting Dr. Barclay for more than one night, we do ask that you can have a vehicle to leave with us or a driver on standby. This helps our team be able to run errands for Dr. Barclay, etc.

Which airport will Dr. Barclay fly into?

We will need you to give us the info for the closest airport to the church; keeping in mind that we can fly into smaller (non-commercial) airports if their runway is at least 5,000 feet long.

Which hotel should we put Dr. Barclay in?

Because of logistics, we ask that you put him in a hotel that is close to the church, but not too far from the airport. Dr. Barclay needs to have Internet access (preferably broadband), so he can keep up with his work while on the road.

We do not have a preference regarding hotel type, but prefer to have 2 king non-smoking rooms and 1 double non-smoking room.

Dr. Barclay prefers not to stay in a bed and breakfast.
